By the end of this course
Each of the ten weeks centers on one real situation. You'll review short materials before class, then use class time to speak, practice, and handle that situation out loud.
Talk about your daily routine.
Describe what you and the people you live with do on an ordinary day.
Rent an apartment.
Ask about a place, compare your options, and settle the terms with an agent.
Shop for what you need to wear.
Ask for sizes and colors, try things on, and choose an outfit for an occasion.
Find your way, and help someone find theirs.
Ask for directions, follow them, and give them clearly.
Make plans with someone.
Suggest something to do, agree on a time, and confirm the details.
Order a meal with confidence.
Ask about dishes, order for yourself or the table, and handle the check.
Handle a job interview.
Talk about your experience, answer questions, and ask a few of your own.
Explain how you feel to a doctor.
Describe symptoms, answer a doctor's questions, and follow the advice you're given.
Hold a conversation on the phone.
Make and take calls, leave a message, and manage without seeing the other person.

How many students are in a class?
Group classes typically cap at 10 students, with up to 5 additional priority seats available for Roadmap students. Class length depends on enrollment: sessions are 2 hours with 4 or more students, 90 minutes with 2 to 3 students, and 60 minutes with 1 student.
Is Conversations and Tasks online or in person?
Both, depending on the term. This course runs live online over Zoom in Winter 2027 and Summer 2027, and in person in Falls Church, Virginia in Spring 2027. Each section has one format, so choose the time and setting that work best for you.
What if I miss a class?
Missing a class doesn't mean falling behind. You'll have access to your course materials so you can stay on track, and you can book a private tutoring session if you'd like one-on-one help with anything you missed.
Do I need the Level Placement Test?
If you're unsure whether Conversations and Tasks is the right fit, take the Level Placement Test. If you haven't completed A1, one of our A1 courses may be a better place to start.
Do I have to take all four A2 courses?
No. You can take Conversations and Tasks on its own, in any order. The A2 Exit Exam opens once you have completed all four A2 courses, and the A2 Roadmap bundles them at a lower rate, but each course stands on its own.
What is your refund policy?
Withdraw at least 7 days before your course begins and you'll receive a full course credit, valid for 365 days. We don't offer cash refunds for withdrawals. If Work-Life Spanish cancels your course, you'll receive an alternative option or a full refund.
