Enrollment policy

Please read these terms before you enroll

By completing your enrollment in a Work-Life Spanish course, you agree to everything below.

Courses and hours

  • Each adult group course is 10 sessions.
  • Total course hours depend on how many students enroll: 10 hours for 1 student, 15 hours for 2 to 3 students, and 20 hours for 4 or more students.
  • Classes do not meet on federal holidays.

Payment

  • All courses are paid in full at the time of registration. We do not offer payment plans.
  • Course fees are not prorated. If you enroll after a course has started, you pay the full course fee, no matter how many sessions remain.

Withdrawals, credits, and refunds

  • Withdraw at least 7 days before the course start date to receive a course credit valid for 365 days.
  • We do not provide cash refunds for student withdrawals.
  • Once a course begins, same-level transfers, credits, and refunds are not permitted.
  • Course credits are valid for 365 days from purchase and are non-refundable.
  • If WLS cancels a course, we offer you an alternative, and if that alternative does not work for you, you receive a full refund.

Transfers

  • A student placed in the wrong level may transfer to the correct level if space allows.
  • Before a course begins, you may transfer to a different section of the same level in the same semester, including switching between an online and an in-person section.

Attendance, completion, and moving up

  • Completing a course requires attending at least 8 of the 10 sessions. A completed makeup session counts as an attended session.
  • More than two absences that are not made up means the course is not completed and may need to be retaken.
  • To advance to the next level, you must complete all courses within your current level and pass the Level Exit Exam.

Returning after a break

  • Students who have been inactive for more than 24 months are asked to retake the Level Placement Test and restart at the level it indicates, or below.

Recording and photos

  • Online sessions are recorded and made available to enrolled students. By enrolling, you consent to being recorded during class.
  • WLS sometimes photographs or records classes and events, and may use those images and recordings in its materials and marketing. If you would prefer your image not be used in marketing, email [email protected] and we will honor that.

A respectful classroom

  • We want every class to be a welcoming, respectful place to learn.
  • WLS may remove a student whose behavior is disruptive or harassing toward classmates or teachers.

Your privacy

  • We keep your personal information private. We do not share or sell it.

Governing law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

By enrolling, I agree that

I have until seven days prior to the start date of the course to cancel my enrollment for a full credit valid for 365 days. I am not eligible for a cash refund unless WLS cancels the course I am enrolled in.
