A school that gets adults speaking
Fairfax has no shortage of Spanish classes. Ours are built around the part most leave out, speaking. For more than a decade, we have helped busy adults cross the gap between studying Spanish and actually speaking it. We built our own curriculum because off-the-shelf programs kept failing adult learners, and every teacher is evaluated each semester against a documented standard. Our founder holds a Master's from the University of Salamanca, the oldest university in the Spanish-speaking world.
Work-Life Spanish is a company that wants its students to succeed in learning Spanish. While learning a language largely depends on an individual's desire and motivation, Work-Life Spanish teachers are welcoming to all students, understanding when language concepts are difficult, and knowledgeable in their craft. The most important part of Work-Life Spanish is that students have fun and experience good-natured laughter. I enjoy my time at Work-Life Spanish, enriching myself in Spanish and getting to know a community of new friends.Gwendolyn Grewe, Work-Life Spanish student (Google)
Questions students ask
Do you have a Spanish school in Fairfax County?
Yes. Our studio is in Fairfax County, at 7389 US-29, Ste 102, with free parking on site, a short drive from the City of Fairfax and easy to reach from across the county. You can also take the same classes live online over Zoom.
Do you teach both adults and kids?
Yes. We offer small-group conversational classes for adults from beginner to advanced, and private one-on-one lessons for children tailored to their age and level. Both are available in person or online.
Are classes online or in person?
You choose. We run separate in-person classes at our Falls Church studio and separate live online classes over Zoom, both following the same curriculum with the same trained teachers. You can take some courses in person and others online, whichever fits.
I have studied before but feel stuck. Where do I start?
Start with the Level Placement Test. It pinpoints your level on the A1 to C1 scale in a few minutes, so we place you in the right class instead of starting you over from scratch.
How long does it take to learn Spanish?
Most adults move through a full CEFR level in about a year with us. Our Roadmap gives you a clear, year-long plan so progress is steady instead of stalling, the way it does with apps and one-off classes.
