By the end of this course
Each of the ten weeks pairs one structure with a short film, so you hear the choice being made before you have to make it yourself. You'll watch and review before class, then use class time to produce it out loud.
Choose your past tense.
Use preterite and imperfect indicative correctly, without hesitating between them.
Handle the perfect tenses.
Use the present perfect and past perfect indicative to place events relative to each other.
Use the subjunctive after verbs.
Handle the present subjunctive in noun clauses, after the verbs that demand it.
Describe the thing you're looking for.
Use the present subjunctive in adjective clauses to describe what may or may not exist.
Talk about the past you're unsure of.
Use the imperfect subjunctive in the contexts that call for it.
React to what has happened.
Use the present perfect subjunctive to comment on completed events.
Say what would have happened.
Use the past perfect subjunctive and conditional si clauses to build full hypotheticals.
Settle por versus para.
Use each one correctly, on purpose, instead of guessing.
Handle transformation and hypothesis.
Use verbs of becoming and the structures that carry speculation.
Put it all together.

How many students are in a class?
Group classes typically cap at 10 students, with up to 5 additional priority seats available for Roadmap students. Class length depends on enrollment: sessions are 2 hours with 4 or more students, 90 minutes with 2 to 3 students, and 60 minutes with 1 student.
Is Indicative vs Subjunctive online or in person?
Both, depending on the term. This course runs live online over Zoom in Autumn 2026 and Spring 2027, and in person in Falls Church, Virginia in Winter 2027. Each section has one format, so choose the time and setting that work best for you.
What if I miss a class?
Missing a class doesn't mean falling behind. You'll have access to your course materials so you can stay on track, and you can book a private tutoring session if you'd like one-on-one help with anything you missed.
Do I need the Level Placement Test?
If you're unsure whether Indicative vs Subjunctive is the right fit, take the Level Placement Test. If you haven't completed B1, one of our B1 courses may be a better place to start.
Do I have to take all four B2 courses?
No. You can take Indicative vs Subjunctive on its own, in any order. The B2 Exit Exam opens once you have completed all four B2 courses, and the A2 Roadmap bundles them at a lower rate, but each course stands on its own.
What is your refund policy?
Withdraw at least 7 days before your course begins and you'll receive a full course credit, valid for 365 days. We don't offer cash refunds for withdrawals. If Work-Life Spanish cancels your course, you'll receive an alternative option or a full refund.
