By the end of this course
Each of the ten weeks is one film from one country, so you spend the course moving across accents, registers, and histories. You'll watch before class, then use class time to argue about what you saw, in Spanish.

Watch El minero del diablo and take on labor, poverty, and belief.

What if I miss a class?

How many students are in a class?
Group classes typically cap at 10 students, with up to 5 additional priority seats available for Roadmap students. Class length depends on enrollment: sessions are 2 hours with 4 or more students, 90 minutes with 2 to 3 students, and 60 minutes with 1 student.
Is Latin American Cinema online or in person?
Online. This C1 course runs live over Zoom, so you can join from anywhere. Our A1 through B2 courses also run in person in Falls Church, Virginia.
What if I miss a class?
Missing a class doesn't mean falling behind. You'll have access to your course materials so you can stay on track, and you can book a private tutoring session if you'd like one-on-one help with anything you missed.
Do I need the Level Placement Test?
If you're unsure whether Latin American Cinema is the right fit, take the Level Placement Test. If you haven't completed B2, one of our B2 courses may be a better place to start.
Do I have to take all four C1 courses?
No. You can take Latin American Cinema on its own, in any order. The C1 Exit Exam opens once you have completed all four C1 courses, and the A2 Roadmap bundles them at a lower rate, but each course stands on its own.
What is your refund policy?
Withdraw at least 7 days before your course begins and you'll receive a full course credit, valid for 365 days. We don't offer cash refunds for withdrawals. If Work-Life Spanish cancels your course, you'll receive an alternative option or a full refund.
