Common questions
How many students are in a class?
Group classes typically cap at 10 students, with up to 5 additional priority seats available for Roadmap students. Class length depends on enrollment: sessions are 2 hours with 4 or more students, 90 minutes with 2–3 students, and 60 minutes with 1 student.
Are classes online or in person?
Both. Some sections meet in person in Falls Church, VA, and others meet live online over Zoom. Each section has one format, so choose the time and setting that work best for you.
What if I miss a class?
Missing a class doesn’t mean falling behind. You’ll have access to your course materials so you can stay on track, and you can book a private tutoring session if you’d like one-on-one help with anything you missed.
Do I need the Level Placement Test?
New students start at A2 after testing into the A2 level on the free Level Placement Test. Current students reach A2 by completing True Beginners and Advanced Beginners and passing the A1 Level Exit Exam, which opens access to the A2 level.
When can I take the A2 Level Exit Exam?
You become eligible to take the A2 Level Exit Exam after completing all four A2 courses. You can take them in any order, so the exam opens once the last one is done. Once you pass, you’re ready to move into B1.
What is your refund policy?
Withdraw at least 7 days before your course begins and you’ll receive a full course credit, valid for 365 days. We don’t offer cash refunds for withdrawals. If WLS cancels your course, you’ll receive an alternative option or a full refund.
