Description: People study, learn, practice, and attend events with Work-Life Spanish full of desires to vacation abroad somewhere warm and sunny, ambitions to engage with friends and loved ones, in search of new adventures, or simply to learn a new skill. Work-Life Spanish helps students of all ages and all levels fulfill their goals through our online and in-person offerings. We rescue people from the solitude of apps or impersonal overcrowded classes and immerse them in a unique learning experience. Our courses and events connect people in order to create a bilingual community that deepens students’ roots to Spain and Latin America.
Position Overview:
Openings for in-person instructors to teach in West Falls Church, VA
Teach one-on-one and group courses on Spanish language and culture
Utilize exceptional time management skills to impart our lesson plans and course materials during the indicated time-frame
Prepare and customize lesson plans for one-on-one students based on their needs and interests
Track student attendance and retention rate
Write post-lesson emails to students resuming the lesson, explaining the homework and offering a solution guide to accompany the session materials
Monitor student activity and encourage upsales
Maintain excellent professionalism, strong organizational skills, and high attention to detail
Incorporate a student-led, communicative approach to language teaching
Requirements:
Native or Near-Native Spanish speaker
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Minimum 1-year teaching experience with children & teens and/or adults in 1-on-1 & group settings
Expertise in Spanish grammar and the communicative language teaching methodology
Ability to both follow a lesson plan and create one when needed
Spanish language curriculum development experience
Own a laptop computer with Microsoft Office suite
Have minimum availability of 4-10 hours per week
Be passionate about Latin American and Spanish culture
