WHAT IF I HAVE TO MISS A CLASS?

We understand that it's difficult to always attend every class, but no worries. Once you enroll you will have access to all of our class handouts and the class syllabus, so you'll always be able to follow along with the class, even from afar.  

We also offer one-on-one makeup classes for only $40, compared to our regular rate of $55. You can book your private session at your convenience on our private tutoring page!

WHAT METHODOLOGY DO YOU USE?

We believe in teaching to both sides of the brain and making learning fun and accessible to visual, auditory and tactile learners alike. Our classes minimize the use of translation and increase the use of images, videos, music, short stories, podcasts, hand gestures, conversation and games to create a dynamic learning environment for learners of all types. HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN EACH CLASS? 

We cap all classes at 12 - 14 students and due to our high demand, many classes fill up quickly. The average class size is 8 students, but lower levels do tend to have a higher number of students. Sign up soon if you are interested in a class so you can reserve your seat!

HOW CAN I PRACTICE OUTSIDE OF CLASS? 

We offer a variety of fun monthly events to help you keep up with your Spanish outside of the classroom. Visit our Monthly Events page for more information! 

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?

Absolutely! We love to reward our students with discounts and free classes! All current students receive an early bird code for 10% off any upcoming class! Students who spread recommend their friends and family to Work-Life Spanish will also receive a FREE 60-minute private tutoring session every time their name is mentioned by a new enrollee. WHERE CAN I SCHEDULE MY OFF-SITE LESSONS?

We travel to most metro accessible locations within Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. Not all instructors travel to every off-site location, so please let us know where you would like to book your lesson before signing up so we can match you with an instructor who can travel to you. 

HOW CAN I ASSESS MY LEVEL?

Use the level descriptions and placement test on our website to help place yourself. If you start a class and realize that you are in the wrong level, we will happily transfer you to a different class at no charge if space is available in your requested level. 

HOW MUCH HOMEWORK SHOULD I EXPECT?

The amount of homework you receive will vary a bit based on the class you are enrolled into, but you can expect to receive approximately 1 - 2 hours of homework per week on average. 

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO CLASS?

Shortly after you enroll into a class you will receive an email welcoming you into the course and a link to your class materials. Handouts will not be distributed in class, so it is important for students to arrive with all materials either downloaded onto a portable device or printed. Work-Life Spanish does not provide textbooks, so please purchase your required book prior to the first day of class. We also recommend that you bring a notebook and pen or pencil. 

WHEN WILL CLASSES BEGIN? 

Classes at Work-Life Spanish total 20 hours and run for a period of 10 weeks during these four semesters: 
WINTER  SEMESTER - January - March
SPRING SEMESTER - April - June
SUMMER SEMESTER - July - September
FALL SEMESTER - October - December

​WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY? 

We understand that plans change which is why you have until seven days prior to the start date of your class to make any cancellations or same-level transfers. After that, refunds cannot be offered under any circumstance.

A 24-hour notice is required for cancellation of any private tutoring lesson. Failure to provide notice will result in a charge for the lesson. Students enrolled in a 20-hour package will lose their scheduled hours if a 24-hour notice is not received. 

WHAT IS YOUR CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY?

Work-Life Spanish reserves the right to cancel any class if deemed necessary. Classes are also cancelled in accordance with Federal government closings due to inclement weather. Work-Life Spanish will e-mail you if class is cancelled for any reason and a class will be added to the end of the semester.

We try very hard not to cancel any offered courses but cannot offer full courses if enrollment numbers are lower than four students. For this reason, courses with fewer than four students may be reduced in hours or cancelled. A full refund will be provided if a course is cancelled.
