This course is an exploration of Spanish and Latin American films from a variety of major directors. Areas of investigation include the cinematic representation of nationality, ethnicity, identity, gender, history and politics. Historical circumstances will be taken into account so that the student is able to understand what film reveals about Spanish and Latin American thought and culture.
